Yiyang Tian 田一阳

Born in 1986 in Beijing, from 2004 to 2008 she studied Packaging Design, Editing and Publishing at Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication.

From 2008 to 2010 she worked as Assistant for the Marketing Department in China United Network Communications Limited, in Beijing, China.

In 2010, she interned for “Travel&Leisures” and “T&L Golf” Magazines, as Layout Designer, in Beijing, China.

In 2011, she joined the Design team, led by Eric Cai, as a Photographer in Shandong, China. She volunteered as a Teacher for an After School Program, in XINXIN Elementary School, Beijing, China.

From 2012 to 2013, she worked as Layout Designer for Chinese Medical Journal.

In 2013 she is working as Office Assistant Communication and PR for MICROmacro Beijing.

Sara Bernardi is an Italian Architect, founder of MICROmacro a laboratory for Architecture Design and Research.

Since 2005 she is a registered Architect at the registration Board of Rome: Sezione “A”- N°17018.

Sara worked in Architecture and Design field for many international renowned companies such as Fuksas, Graft, IaN+, between Italy and China before founding her own practice in Beijing, MICROmacro, in 2011.

MICROmacro is a Design laboratory that exists between Beijing and Rome, and mixes an Italian design background with inspirations and researches articulated from local to global influences. The work focuses on contradictions and dichotomies, grafting different scales and mixing different identities and cultural influences. MICROmacro attempts to blur the boundaries that divide the various aspects of creativity, aiming to create an exchange between disparate realities and scales from MICRO to macro, from Master Planning to Product Design.

MICROmacro’s work and installations have been presented in many international Design events and prestigiuos Museums and Galleries between China and Italy, such as: La Triennale di Milano, Today Art Museum Beijing, Chambers Fine Arts Beijing, Beijing Design Week, Fuori Salone Sarpi Bridge, Fuori Salone Ventura Lambrate, Oriental Design Week and Operae Indipendent Design Festival.

From January 2010 to January 2012 She worked for GRAFT as Project Manager on several Archietctural and Urban projects in China and Southeast Asia, from Master Planning to Residential, commercial and Hospitality projects.

From October 2007 to September 2009 She worked at Fuksas Architects as Project Manager for many prestigious international projects, among them: Shenzhen Bao’an international Airport New Terminal 3, Armani 5th Avenue New York, Benetton new flag ship store in Roma.

From February 2006 to October 2007 she worked at IaN+ architects on several award winning competitions for public projects such as schools, residential and infrastructure projects, and redevelopments of former industrial buldings.

She studied Architecture at the Università degli Studi Roma Tre, in Rome, Italy, where she obtained her Master degree of Architecture cum laude in 2004. Her Master Thesis focused on the former industrial Area of Italgas Ostiense in Rome, the thesis research has been pubblished by Gangemi editore in “La Fabbrica del Gas all’Ostiense – Forma e Luogo di un area industriale”.
